Erasmus+ KA2 Innovative Strategic Partnership – 2018-1-IT02-KA201-048538
St.A.R.T. UPtoEU (Storytelling Ancient Roman Traces up to Europe) is an Innovative Strategic Partnership that, since 2018, has involved four European schools from Italy, Spain, Germany and the Czech Republic, local authorities (Reggia di Caserta), a cultural association (BIMED) and a telematic university (UniPegaso) to pursue the objectives of modernizing teaching, starting from the innovation of communication in the field of Cultural Heritage.
The project, ended in December 2021, has always pursued with determination its goals:
- consolidate cultural awareness through the enhancement of cultural heritage
- recognize the common European identity of partner countries, once Roman provinces and now member states of the European Union;
- promote the use of new technologies and develop innovative forms of communication in the field of cultural heritage;
- promote a multilingual and intercultural approach to knowledge;
- promote business skills to foster young people employability ;
- consolidate linguistic and socio-relational skills.
Despite the pandemic has led to revise the planned activities, the results have been achieved thanks to the synergistic horizontal and vertical collaboration between the partners coordinated by the Siani High School of Aversa. All activities were carried out favoring collaborative, inclusive and innovative methodologies, situational learning and the spirit of collaboration also through peer to peer.
Transnational meetings (TM1-6) and short training events (C1-C6), also in the virtual mode, represented significant moments for the development of the project, both for planning and management and for the acquisition of data necessary for the realization of the four intellectual products:
– a website for the storytelling of cultural heritage through guides, interactive maps, stories and texts (O1);
– a learning platform with courses on forms and techniques of communication in the field of cultural heritage (O2);
– production of cultural objects/gadgets through 3D printing (O3);
– a multilingual digital glossary of cultural heritage consisting of an e-book and a database that can be consulted online (O4)
All the intellectual products created are open, implementable, replicable and transferable in other space-time contexts, therefore they will be able to exceed time limits of the Project reaching wider communities of the single partnership, such as operators in the cultural heritage sector or simply people interested in the use of cultural heritage, also in a perspective of growth of the tourist-cultural induced on the territory.
Less tangible but equally significant results can be added to the realization of these outputs : such as the improvement of digital, linguistic, social and civic skills, strengthened by a renewed awareness of being a European citizen thanks to the fruitful cultural exchanges favored by transactional mobility but also by distance meetings.
The main impact of the outcomes was to promote the educational, social and cultural growth of the participants, strengthening the process of internationalization of local communities.
The results of the Project were disseminated through seminars, conferences, events, newspapers, local radio and TV, social networks.
A constant monitoring and control process ensured that the project came to an end and achieved the expected results.
Several factors contribute to define the sustainability of the project that, in promoting the cultural heritage, has also promoted the local communities, involving different groups of stakeholders, who almost all have expressed a positive evaluation of the Project, as well as the external participants of the partner organizations present at the final multiplier event (E1).
Another possible element of transferability and sustainability is also the collaboration with high quality organizations, active in Education and in the enhancement and protection of cultural heritage, through digital culture and innovation.
The cooperation tested in the partnership will continue on the same issues even after the end of the project.
